Peter attended Trinity College Dublin, graduating from Dental School in 2003. Over July and August of 2002 Peter travelled alone to South Africa to spend his elective summer period in Tygerberg at the then Stellenbosch University Dental School. Peter brought his boots and joined Villagers Rugby Club retaining only fond memories of snoek braiis and milk stout.
Following graduation Peter moved back to the UK to take up a place at Oxford University to complete an MSc in Diagnostic Imaging. Whilst at Oxford Peter played in the Varsity Match at Twickenham. After a stint in general dental practice in the Oxford area Peter began his specialist training in Endodontology at the Eastman Dental Hospital, London, in 2007. Upon completion of training Peter passed the endodontic exit exams from the Royal Colleges of London and of Edinburgh.
Now with a young family Peter settled in the Portsmouth area where he established his own practice – Hampshire Endodontics – as well as the Hampshire Endodontic Study Club. Peter works in endodontic private practice four days a week and spends one day a week supervising final year undergraduate dental students from Kings College London – the largest and top-ranked dental school in UK.
With a keen interest in endodontic surgery and local anaesthesia, Peter regularly runs endodontic courses in the south of England and is an occasional contributor of articles in UK dental publications. He has made presentations at the British Endodontic Society’s annual meeting and also at the major UK dental shows. Peter serves as an examiner for the MFDS exam held by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
